Cape Town Budo Seminar
On January 2, I was one of three instructors teaching a joint Budo Seminar at the Ashihara Karate Honbu Dojo in Cape Town, South Africa. My fellow teachers was Tsuneo Ando Shihan, 8th Dan Yoshinkan Aikido, Kancho of the Ryudojo, and Hoosain Narker Shihan, 8th Dan Headmaster and Kaicho of the Ashihara Karate International organisation.
As this was the first time exposure of many to my Aikisambo technique, it was very basic, but based on the comments and feedback received, my teaching was very well received and I was requested to come back and teach again. Below find some pictures of the seminar. It must be noted that this was the second day of the New Year and many people were on vacation in South Africa. Some participants had travelled from Kimberley in the Northern Cape Province, Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape Province, Pretoria in Gauteng and Kwa Zulu Natal Province, such was the interest in the Budo Seminar which was well attended and limited to 60 participants due to tatami size.
All participants received a seminar certificate.
After the seminar, we were treated to dinner at Narker sensei’s house. Special thanks to his wife for providing the great food.
